Without a doubt, Fall is one of the best times to visit Germany, especially in the Bavarian countryside. The trees in the Black forest and along the Rhine river valley are turning vibrant colors as the days grow crisper. The grape vines are golden.
Indian summer, or what the Germans call Altweibersommer (old women's summer), frequently makes a welcome appearance during the fall months. Best of all, most of the tourists have gone home.
This is a perfect time to explore Germany's historic "Romantic Road". This old Roman trade route wanders through stunning walled towns and famous Bavarian castles, which have maintained their medieval character. A stroll along the charming walking trails through the vineyards or sightseeing through the picturesque villages is enough to work up a hearty appetite.
We have created a special menu similar to what you might find if you stopped in to dine at one of the beautiful, historical Inns along the "Romantic Road".
Smoked Rainbow Trout with Potato Apple Pancakes, Sour Cream and Chives
Roasted Spiced Whole Duck with Cumberland Sauce (a red fruit sauce), Bacon Leek Spaetzle and Sauerkraut
Warm Peach Fritters with Vanilla Ice Cream
Germany is home to many top notch vineyards. Our sommelier has specially selected some of their great wines and wines from around the world to go along with this romantic menu!
